The explorer now separates election reporting, surveys, ownership and public systems, with seven guided examples and a Harris County records pilot.

The Connections explorer includes seven source-qualified examples and plain-language descriptions of nodes, links, dates and evidence limits. Its sources remain available without using the visual graph.
The Harris County pilot separates 2021 acquisition and certification, documented November 2022 use, and a September 2026 state inventory. These records answer different questions and are not interchangeable.
USA TODAY coverage distinguishes historical AP-service and survey relationships from supplemental 2026 recruiting listings. Listings are research leads, not proof that contractors were deployed or that they supplied AP.
Reviewed-release comparison support is present but gated off until approved public releases exist. This update does not activate a research database or publish private drafts.
